Owner's Comment: DANAE was designed by Ted Geary in 1930 as a high speed commuter that carried business men from Vancouver, Canada, to their homes up-Sound. Her 400 hp Liberty aircraft engine enabled her to reach the speed of 30 mph, and because of this she was later used to pursue smugglers who were illegally transporting contraband into the U.S.A.

During World War II DANAE did patrol duty in Esquimalt and Victoria for the Canadian Navy. After the war she was used as a yacht and led the sedate life of a family cruiser.

Among the many awards that DANAE has earned are the "Best Power Boat" at the Victoria Wooden Boat Show, "Special Guest " at EXPO 86 in Vancouver, Canada, and numerous other prizes. She is a member of the Classic Yacht Association, is listed in the Canadian Registry of Historical Craft, the Registry of Wooden Boats, and is featured in at least five other publications.

Excerpt From Survey: "DANAE is a heritage vessel in show condition, and maintained to the highest yacht standards. The vessel is boathouse-kept and shows no signs of misuse or damage."
